The time has come!

Finally here, from lands afar
I've tried writing this post four times now.  I'm just not sure how to start it.  I guess because it's something kind of big, and kind of important - to me anyways.  I'm not making a huge life change, so don't freak out.  But I am putting myself out there for the world to criticize, which is a risk in itself.

Having spent the last year doing custom wood projects, and three commissioned pieces… I thought it was time I made it semi-official, time to put together something that could speak for itself.

Allow me to introduce…

Taa Daaa!

I know this is the direction I want to go in, I'm just not brave enough to do it full time (maybe never)… but I can dream, right?  Perhaps one day I'll surprise myself.  I could see this being various custom wood solutions for people's homes, or as creative gifts.  I would also love to have my hand in maintaining the heritage woodwork throughout the city.  It's something I'm kind of passionate about.

BUT until it becomes a career, it's just a part-time/hobby-time adventure for me.  I've got my website now, and I JUST got my wood stamp from Hong Kong, so I guess I'm ready to go!

I'm already lined up to retrofit my friend's kitchen, offering her a more affordable solution than redoing the whole thing before selling it.  It's definitely going to be a challenge, but one she's really excited for me to try (especially if it means she doesn't have to spend $3000 just to move out!)

Maybe then I'll get my poor Hubby's kitchen done ;)
(I got stuck at the drywall puttying, and tile laying stage)

  1. Congratulations on the website and the new venture! Just this week, I heard someone being interviewed, and their career advice was to recall what you loved to do when you were 10 years old. Follow your dreams, learn as you go, and you'll never look back with regret on what might have been. - the Orillia Waughs

    1. Thank you!! GW and I were just talking this morning about how to take baby steps into making this a bigger part of my life. Hopefully by this time next year I'll have a better idea of how to make it work. xoxo!
