Our "gallery" wall... and one other thing!

THE WALL IS DONE!!!!  (well, almost - baseboard to go, I'll tell you more in a 'big wrap up' post sometime)

Tonight I finished putting together the frames for our gallery wall, which lives on the panelled wall that I've been painstakingly building for a while now.

Wanna see all my hard work?

Here's what I started with... this wall, and a dream to have a secret passageway in our house.  Since the amazing bookcase-hiding-a-stairwell wasn't an option, I envisioned a panelled wall that would disguise our door.

Please ignore the mess :)  This was our 'extra' room before I began my mission.

And here's the finished product!!  Although our gallery wall is missing a few photos, I had to share now as I don't know how long it'll take us to choose what we want to put up there.

Wait... wasn't there a door there?  YES THERE IS!

Not such a secret posting a pic on here, but the secret is in the locking mechanism.  Shhhhh!  I'll never tell :)

And yes, I'm already dreaming of my next projects.  I swear GW is by far one of the most patient men out there.  The next trick will be building bookcases for this room, then buying furniture, and a chandelier before I move onto the kitchen?  Maybe I have to finish the trim in our bedroom first... but we'll see!

  4. And the 'Golden Hammer Award' goes to... drum roll please... YOU!

Great that the complexity of this project didn't deter you so early in your 'Craftswomen Extraordinaire' career.

Looks fantastic! Can't wait to see the next Project.

    1. Haha, "you like me, you really like me!" The next Project is already drawn out, and I'm chomping at the bit to get started, although the garden needs my attention first.
